Using ice at home. On the left is the storage space of a home ice box. People put ice in the top of the box which chilled the cupboard at the front in the picture. On the right is a portable "ice cave" made by a famous cook Mrs Marshall. Ice was placed in the thick sides of the box and food was placed in the compartment in the middle of the box.
