Venue Hire

The museum is an interesting and different place for an evening meeting in a highly accessible location. Ideally placed for people to attend after leaving work in London, and within easy reach of excellent public transport, the museum is a great place for your AGM, seminar, or other meeting.

The museum's two floors can be used to advantage. Meetings are usually held on the first floor, and these may be followed by a reception and perhaps a supper on the ground floor. The ground floor may also be used for tea/coffee on arrival.

The museum is available from 1630 onwards, or earlier on Mondays, subject to other diary commitments. The latest finishihg time is 2300. Set-up takes place after the start-time but can be carried out quickly.

Our Facilities

We have in-house audio-visual equipment available for hire that meets most clients' needs. When necessary we can hire in additional equipment. Wine glasses are available for hire. You are free to use the outside caterers of your choice, whether they bring in drinks, snacks or a lavish buffet supper. We provide free coat rails. Power supplies are available around the walls of the museum so that nowhere is far from one if you need to use electrical equipment. We can provide a tea and coffee service for delegates or you can ask your caterer to provide this.

We have a full range of furniture available in-house that enables us to offer cabaret style meetings (i.e. round tables), U-shape or large boardroom conference styles, theatre style, or circle style meetings, as well as ancilliary needs such as a receptionist's table, speaker's lectern, etc. Your quotation will make it clear what is included and what is available at extra cost.

Staff

A duty manager is always on hand to help with any questions that arise during the event but if you wish, at extra cost, we can provide staff for duties such as reception, cloakroom service, bar service etc. We don't offer food service staff.

Where a break from hard work is desired, we can help facilitate boat trips, or provide a museum tour. Our experience of events in the unique surroundings of the museum is available to help you plan a faultless occasion.

With the exception of Mondays, set-up cannot begin until 1630 therefore the meeting cannot begin until a little later, depending on the complexity of the set-up and the arrangements that are agreed as to who will carry out the furniture set-up.

We have excellent Internet access in the building. Wi-Fi is available to delegates free of charge. If you require a computer we can arrange to hire one for you, but most clients bring their own laptop machines.

Getting Home

We could hardly be better connected. King's Cross, Euston, and St. Pancras International stations are all within walking distance. Eurostar services from St. Pancras mean that it is even possible to get home to Paris after an early evening event at the museum. Thameslink services from St. Pancras run to the south coast and north to Luton and Bedford. High speed services link St. Pancras with east and north Kent. King's Cross has more direct rail and Underground links than practically anywhere else in London. We also provide licensed minicab numbers and use of the telephone to call them, but the area is reassuringly busy (other than in our small street) around the clock so nobody need hesitate to walk to the station for that easy journey home, after an event.
