What is Mosaic?

Mosaics are ceramic art, a picture created with small ceramic pieces to form a beautiful whole. The British Association for Modern Mosaic is the leading UK membership organisation for Mosaic artists and runs an annual exhibition on a theme appropriate to the venue. Last year (2007) they exhibited at the Fishbourne Roman Palace, a wonderful archaeological remains site with much to inspire the Mosaics that were exhibited there.

This exhibition is part of the BAMM ‘miniature’ series of exhibitions. Each mosaic is wall hanging, two dimensional, and up to one foot in diameter. Some of the Mosaics are square, some are round, or other shapes.

Exhibition runs until 8th November 2008. Most of the pieces on display are available for purchase by direct negotiation with the artist. Pieces cannot be collected until the exhibition has finished.
