Hold your event against a backdrop of colourful heritage from the canal age. The museum is in a quiet location beside Battlebridge Basin, a surprising urban beauty spot near King's Cross. We have our own mooring, so you can arrive by boat, and we are also one of London's most connected venues by train, with King's Cross, Euston, and St. Pancras International stations all within walking distance.
There are main galleries on two floors and a smaller conference room on the first floor. The ground floor gallery is ideal for receiving guests and serving refreshments in impressive surroundings. The first floor offers a large space with a splendid victorian timber roof for a presentation, conference, dinner, or party. You are free to choose your own outside caterers for drinks, canapés or a lavish meal. There is access to the outdoor canalside area from the ground floor.

The building was built around 1860 as an ice warehouse and guests can peer down into a huge ice well, uniquely preserved beneath the floor. Spectacular colourful lighting is available in this ice well to make a talking point for any audience. The decor is brick industrial. The exhibitions add colour and charm. The facilities are very modern and of a high standard. Powerful heaters in winter add to the warmth of the atmosphere and the first floor has an air cooling system to keep you cooler in summer.
We are within walking distance of five railway stations. There are through trains to these stations from most parts of the midlands and north of England, from Brighton, north and east Kent, Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton airports and from Paris and Bruxelles. St. Pancras International Station is at most 10 minutes' walk.There is easy access to all parts of London by Underground, rail, and bus, including extensive night bus services.

For business clients, we host conferences, training events, dinners, corporate functions, launches, meetings, and parties, corporate exhibitions, presentations and hospitality. Our small conference room hosts meetings, interviews, and training. For private clients we host parties, wedding and civil partnership ceremonies and receptions, Bar Mitzvahs, and more. A wide variety of styles can be created, especially by creative use of lighting. It can be as corporate and formal as you like, with the decor planned to suit a black-tie event or to create a businesslike atmosphere. It can be informal if you prefer. We are accredited at silver level as a member of the Green Tourism for London scheme, a part of the nationwide Green Tourism Business Scheme. This means that our eco-credentials have been independently assessed. Customers are asked to co-operate with our recycling arrangements by ensuring that glass, clean paper and cardboard, cans and plastic bottles are not placed in the general refuse but kept separate for recycling. We keep energy use to the minimum whilst ensuring that your guests are comfortable. When we supply tea/coffee services we use Fairtrade ingredients as much as possible.
